La Platriere – Bed & Breakfast Guest House and Holiday Cottage, with large swimming pool, all within 3 acres of gardens.
A warm welcome awaits you at La Platriere from Jackie and Andy, English owners of a stunning B&B and holiday Cottage.

Maybe you are planning a stop-over stay for a night or two on your journey south to the Cote d’Azur, Pyrenees or Spain, or across to the French Alps, Switzerland or Italy, or maybe you are travelling back to the UK and need a well deserved break. Or maybe you are planning a longer stay, taking time out to explore the beautiful region of Auvergne with its quiet roads, volcanoes, rivers, lakes and forests. Whatever the reason, whenever the season, La Platriere is open all year round.

La Platriere is easy to find, situated on the D64, 4 kms from the small town of Lurcy-Levis in the department of Allier. Easy acces from the N77 turning off at St Pierre le Moutier, or alternatively just 25 minutes from the autoroute A71/A77 cutting through the forest of Troncais, north of Clermont-Ferrand.

When you arrive at La Platriere you will find secure parking for your bike and drying facilities (if it rains) for your gear. After a brief chat and a complimentary beer with your hosts, you can either settle down in your room, or the spacious guest lounge, or take a cooling dip in our swimming pool. We have a restaurant licence so can supply drinks, and evening meals and if you prefer a good fry-up for breakfast instead of “continental” just let us know the night before. At La Platriere we cater for groups (up to 21), couples and solo riders.

Bed & Breakfast (sleeps up to 15)
Accommodation comprises of the following:
1 large room catering up to 4/5 single beds, en-suite and tea/coffee facilities
2 double or twin-bedded rooms (our English beds lock together to form king-size doubles or singles), en-suite and tea/coffee facilities
2 twin-bedded rooms, en-suite and tea/coffee facilities.
Prices start from 45 euros for one person, 60 euros twin-bedded rooms, 75 euros double/twin rooms and 110 euros for large room. All inclusive of continental breakfast (small supplement of 6 euros for full English breakfast)

Cottage
(sleeps up to 6)
2 bedrooms – 1 double, 1 twin-bedded.
2 sitting rooms – (one can convert to 3rd bedroom if needed)
1 large kitchen with dining area
1 bathroom with separate toilet.
Private garden and parking space.

Riders Rest B&B 4 Bikers in the Central Massif

Riders Rest is a unique motorcycle bed and breakfast which is ideally situated for onward travel to Spain, the South Coast of France, The Pyrenees, or the Rhone Alps. Or indeed as a base to tour the beautiful Central Massif Region of France, covering the Limousin, Auvergne and Dordogne.

Riders Rest is the midway point for any rider headed for Spain or Portugal which makes it the perfect stop over point to head for. It is without doubt a friendly place to over night with people who understand the needs of those on two wheels. Wendy & Tony will take care of you whether for a one night stop over, or for a longer stay in the beautiful CORRÈZE region of Limousin...

Riders Rest cater for Groups, couples and solo riders, their aim is to make their home yours for the duration of your stay. That means secure parking, space to store your gear, drying facilities (God forbid it should rain) - Breakfast when you want it - Evening meal (additional) - Cold beer and good wine - Close to some of the best Twisties and views in the region

Not only does Riders Rest have a unique group accommodation solution with their Clubroom for up to 9 solo riders along with 3 double rooms for couples, they have a fully equipped workshop, secure parking and a hardstanding dedicated for washing bikes, plus a recovery trailer that will carry practically any motorcycle safely .

Tony is also an accomplished tourer with many years experience of riding Europe and more recently the Central Massif area of France he has many proven routes to keep even the most demanding rider happy for a weeks stop over.

His rides are a Triumph Rocket 3, an FJR1300 and a Moto Guzzi Stelvio whilst Wendy rides a modified Honda CB500S.

1 Club Room with 2 showers, 1 bath and 3 toilets, en-suite - sleeps upto 9 solo riders

Stefan's Place

Stefan's place sits at the top of col des Ares and is a focal point of my sunday morning ride.
I never fail to stop when I pass.
I first saw stefan's place in 2006 when I looked round with a view to buying it - I was not too sure I could make it work as a 100% dedicated biker B&B despite it's location.
Stefan hasn't even tried to do that - and a whole range of outdoor activities are available. The bedrooms are of an excellent standard and it has an excellent layout a really cool place to put your feet up and have a drink at the end of a hard day's ride:I think it's great.

Our customer experience of this is such that we have had rental customer's renting bikes that have phoned up mid-hire specifically to reserve there for the last night or two of the return.
